GOING NATIVE? HEAD FOR THE MBG’S SPRING PLANT SALE

Attention, Determined Gardeners —
A lot of people are moving away from the generic Big Box garden, and including more natives in their plans. If that’s you, take off your soggy garden shoes and head out to the Mobile Botanical Garden’s Spring Plant Sale, going on today through Sunday.  The event highlights the gardening program called ReBloom the Gulf Coast.  MBG Executive Director Bill Finch had the details in his weekly column in today’s Mobile Press Register,

At the Mobile Botanical Garden’s giant Spring Plant Sale, we’re fighting back with the ReBloom the Gulf Coast gardening program. There are 13,000 — yes, that’s 13 THOUSAND individual plants —and 1,025 different varieties of shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals that have been selected for growing along the Gulf Coast, and that will all be for sale at the Mobile Botanical Gardens, from 9 until 4 today and Saturday, and from 11 until 4 on Sunday.
